The Secret of Growth and Improving Your Personal Power

If you are not growing you are dying. You have to grow in order to stay alive inside. In order to feel alive and realize your true potential you have to always be growing.
A lot of people don't grow. They never grow. After they stop growing in height, they usually stop growing mentally, physically, spiritually as well.
You on the other hand, know that you need to grow. You know you need to increase your skills and personal power. This reminds me of a famous diagram by Stephen Covey, from the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
It's his "Circle of Influence". Imagine two circles, one inside of the other. The one on the inside is your "Circle of Influence", the one surrounding is your "Circle of Concern". Covey says that everyone has these two circles.
Your "Circle of Influence" is your personal power circle. It's everything that you have control over. It's the things you can influence.
Your "Circle of Concern" is everything you want to control. Everything that concerns you. This is the world you live in.
The thing you should be concentrating on is increasing the size of your "Circle of Influence", so you have more control and more power over your lives. This is growing.
What People Don't Tell You About Growing:
Growing involves doing things you are not fully comfortable doing. It involves pushing yourself just that little bit more.
You have to accept that level of uncomfortableness, and appreciate it. If you are doing things that are uncomfortable at first, it means you are growing physically, mentally or spiritually.
Every new thing you do there will be a certain level of uncomfortableness. Some things more to a degree then others.
Remember that the other side of whatever it is you are doing is worth the short period of uncomfortableness. If you are always comfortable you will never grow. So accept and be happy about doing uncomfortable things.
